And the chief priests
And the scribes all stood up,
And vehemently accused Him.
And King Herod with his men of war,
Set him at nought, and mocked Him,
And array'd Him in gorgeous apparel,
And sent Him again unto Pilate.
And Pilate, when he had call'd together the chief priests
And the rulers and the people,
Spake to them saying:
"Ye have brought to me this Man unto me,
As one that perverteth the peoplе:
And behold, I have examin'd Him bеfore you,
And have found no fault in this Man
Touching those things whereof ye accuse Him:
No, nor yet Herod: for he sent Him back into us,
And behold, nothing worthy of death hath been done by Him.
I will therefore chastise Him,
And release Him."
(For he must of necessity release one unto them at the Feast.)
And they cried out all of once,
And said:
