Eye for Eye

Beast makes a feast of the kingdom. Did he get a piece of you?
White sepulchers keep on preaching, claim they’re keepers of the truth.
It’s eye for and tooth for tooth; the world goes blind; all hell breaks loose.
Hyenas and jackals scuffle tearing at a pile of bones.
In the desert where rocks and rubble are remnants of poor people’s homes.
Blood and oil stain the sand; things have gotten out of hand. It’s true.
Some find fault with others’ loving.
They say that paper holds the truth.
Some delight while others suffer.
They play a game of win or lose.
Cro-Magnon to Armageddon someone always lights a spark
How many amoebas and zebras feasted on old Noah’s ark?
With eye for eye and tooth for tooth blind men harvest bitter fruit.
We have demonic inventions, worms and germs and bombs and drones,
Restrictive social conventions, aggression that I do bemoan.
We have eye for eye and tooth for tooth blind men harvest bitter fruit.
Some find fault with others’ loving.
They say that paper holds the truth.
Some delight while others suffer
They play a game of win or lose.
Beast makes a feast of the kingdom. Did he get a piece of you?
White sepulchers keep on preaching, claim they’re keepers of the truth.
It’s eye for and tooth for tooth; the world goes blind; all hell breaks loose.
