Tell me why - why it is,
We all cause each other pain,
Chasing after little things,
That just get in the way,
Sure We'd all like to be somebody,
Somebody that we're not,
Eventually we realize,
It doesn't mean a lot,
But I just keep on dreaming,
You can often hear me say,
I wish I was ten thousand miles away,
I wish I was in Paris everyday.
The loveliness of Paris,
Seems to somehow sadly fade,
and suddenly, you realize,
It was all a masquerade,
But I just keep on dreaming,
You can often hear me say,
I wish I was Ten thousand miles away,
I wish I was in Paris everyday.
The grass is always greener,
Well at least we think it is,
So we run around this great big world,
Chasing dreams that don't exist,
There's trouble in Los Angeles,
People caught up in a war,
As usual, nobody knows,
What it is they're fighting for,
So I just keep on dreaming,
You can often hear me say,
I wish I was ten thousand miles away,
I wish I was in Paris everyday,
I'm flying into Paris in the rain.
