Beyond All Hope
She sees him in a different way,
and she don't think he's changed
although her view of him has.
His name no longer brings a smile,
instead an occasional tear.
The good times make her sad
as if a longing for them back
toils with her emotions
like they're nothing but a game.
The place in her heart for him has grown dark
and shall never see the light of love again.
His rich smile has turned cheap,
his eyes have grown shallow and empty
...worth it? she doesn't know...
was it true? she thinks not...
it was a lie...
at least part of it.
Why tie her
and wind her into you
and discard her as quickly as can be?
The gentile touch she grew to love
no longer has the same appeal,
and he,
he treated her as if she's nothing,
and she was nothing to him.
The one she thought could save her
dug her deeper in despair.
She sees him in a different way
and she don't think he has changed,
although, her view of him has.
The place in her heart
for him has grown dark....
and shall never see the light of love again.
