Loneliness, With Thoughts of You
Sitting in this empty room,
I mourn the bright, but embrace the gloom.
These thoughts of you within my brain
The only things that keep me sane.
The walls are white, this table brown
I yearn for noise, some tender sound
Silent I sit and alone I write,
Without your love, without your light.
But if I'd ever said a word
Surely you'd have found it absurd;
So quiet am I, you'd never guess
I loved you more than all the rest.
So now I wait and watch the time.
And speak my deepest wish in rhyme.
For otherwise you'd never know.
I let you slip, let you go.
