The stars they wept upon the stone
Where a maiden walked alone
Night had rocked all else to sleep
The mountains and the ocean deep
She held a feather to her lips
And blew it gently with a kiss
The zephyrs took that feather high
In a winding spiral to the sky
Her voice it sang so clear
That the moon shed a silver tear
That bathed the feather in its light
As a haunting melody stirred the night
The black night faded as dawn awoke
And that sweet voice no longer spoke
The maiden turned in a flurry of white
And a thousand feathers began their flight
