I saw a lonely dog
Strolling right beside the roadway
With feathers on his paws
Howling ever so slowly
Sniffing at the air at no one in particular
Rolling out the tongue
At a victimless visitor
Why do the crickets sing to you
With such butterscotch generosity
From underneath those coconut trees and distinct virtuosity
Maybe it’s Strawberry Vision
Twist me up a nice illusion
Dream me up something sugary
Pastel shade of melody
Fooling it all to look like that that way
It spoke to right then
Like an old worn out silk drum
Right after that low growl had turned into a hum
It as it laid down way back
Far far inside my mind
I heard a dry sound spinning from behind
Why do the birds cuckoo to you
Mocking the sound of cellophane
Slowly escaping into the air to slide down my window pain
Maybe it’s Strawberry Vision
Twist me up a nice illusion
Dream me up something sugary
Pastel shade of melody
Fooling it all to look like that that way
