Time is my disguise
An amulet I’d rather
Bleach it from our minds
Than cherish like no other
Leave the storm outside
The ancient ice is melting
Crackles on the wire
But still the air grows chilling
Perish with the thought
And yet the storm is rising
Never could have thought
How pleasant a surprise
And how dare you look so well
When I cast so many curses
And how dare you look so proud
In a trail of petty corpses
Given time enough to tell
How the winter froze upon us
In a travesty of turning points
A fragile trust was shattered
Ritual into wrong
And heresy to harbour
Search for so long gone
And carry this no further
Leaving still anon
Behind the restless ardour
Fear of words undone
And safest left to wither
