Once upon a time
We had grass, gold and sky
But, led by a dime,
We were only meant to fly
A thousand ships went sailing
Though they left our overall
A whole new vision coming
It's a time I can't recall
We've been our own lords
With a culture of one kind
Now for some rewards
Our reigns are all resigned
One can only wonder
About the differences in the scrolls
It's a way to try
And bring peace to these souls
Values of order and progress
They are forgotten since we closed our eyes
The hope of the Southern Cross
Our remaining light
Raise your head and shine
Time will make you fine
Turn the other page
And learn from your blue age
I thought it was a prize
Or were we a simple lie?
Behind gifts, a surprise
I just couldn't let it die
You see me as friend
Though I wanted something more
Now it's all behind
I will shut your door
I wanted to fix it
When you told me we could work it out
Any time we would sympathize
You can't deny it
Raise your head and shine
Time will make you fine
Turn the other page
And learn from your blue age
