Eddie beads his zodiac beads
and sells them at the lakeside
his mouth fills the shore with birds and bees and all the trees that used to ignore laughed with him
on the pier Julie looks to feast, she lights a fire by Eddie’s feet and calls me to come over
songs sooth our youthful skies
and raw shallots we’re dancing all around us
and squirrels came down to play
gods we’re bound to dance too
Eddie gifts Julie a bracelet-she asked for an Aquarius
he gives her another bracеlet
that says “friends don’t lie”
but strangеr things we’re bound to happen
as Eddie always lied
but Julie never cared
till it started hurting and stars aligned
and our fake laughs dimmed out the bright skies
